*Note: If you know of a Puma parent not receiving these newsletters, please email me their address ASAP. These are also posted on the Puma announcements page, found on the Puma team Weebly.

$20 Request - Due October 16th

We are still missing donations from many Puma students. This money is the lifeblood of our quarterly celebrations. It helps us to not only feed students, but also reward them for their awesome behavior and grades!

If you are able, please send in $20 with your student by October 16th. The money should be in an envelope with the name Mia Montanus on it. Please also place your child's name and your email address in the upper corner, so we can keep track of whose donation we have received. Thank you for helping us to celebrate your children!

Important Upcoming Dates

On October 15th, we will be celebrating the (almost) end of the quarter during our PBIS Celebration Day! The YMCA will be coming in to help organize games and activities for the first part of the school day. It will take place from 8:30-10:00 in the morning.

If students have earned more than 8 signatures this quarter, they will need to turn in three SPOTS tickets, per signature over, in order to attend the celebration. We will be having conversations with those students this week.

October 15th - PBIS Celebration Day

October 16th - Early Release Day

October 19th-23rd - Spirit Week

October 23rd - End of Quarter 1

Behavior Goals - BYOD

Parents, our Puma Behavior Goal over the last week has been "Paying Attention" with a special concentration on our BYOD expectations. Please remind your students that devices are not allowed in the hallways or cafeterias at any time. When it comes to our individual classrooms, students need to be aware of our red, yellow, green levels. Most classrooms, most days, will remain on a red light (no device) unless there is a project, hands on technology need, or need to research. Students will know beforehand if they will need their devices. When devices come to school, they are to be used for learning, not communication throughout the day, especially not during class instruction.

*Apple Watches have increasingly become an issue. If your student feels to need to bring this type of technology into the classroom, they are not to be using it during instruction or to read. Please help us to reinforce this at home.

Next week's behavior goal: Showing Respect (How to Appropriately Participate in the Classroom Setting)
