The Seven Day Battle took place near Richmond Virginia on June 26th-July 1st,1862. The generals of the Seven Day Battle were Union General George B. McClellan and the Confederate General Robert E. Lee. The winner of the seven day battle was the Confederate with general Robert E. Lee. With a Federal army of more than 100,000 well-supplied soldiers poised on its eastern flank, the citizens of Richmond, Virginia warily awaited news from the tenuous lines along the swampy Chickahominy River.
