Colonial Park Weekly News
December 6 - December 10
Principal's Note
I hope everyone is enjoying today's sunshine and having a productive weekend. The next three weeks are going to be a blur!
This week, we welcome our families for Parent Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, December 8 and Thursday, December 9. All families should have had the opportunity to sign up for a virtual or in-person conference with their child's teachers. The following is the schedule for the week:
- Monday, December 6 - Report Cards and Progress Reports are sent home.
- Wednesday, December 8 - Conferences, 4:00pm to 7:00pm
- Thursday, December 9 - Conferences, 1:00pm to 4:00pm
We are looking forward to meeting with you!
Some reminders regarding morning arrival:
- Please do not stop in front of Door 8 when dropping off a first grade student. It is not safe for vehicles entering the parking lot.
- If you are dropping off a kindergarten student or a preschool student in front of Door 10, please do not exit your vehicle. If you would like to leave your vehicle, please park in the parking lot or in the surrounding neighborhood.
- During inclement weather, all students may be dropped off at the main entrance. Please pull your vehicle up to the curb, and have your child exit out the right door onto the sidewalk. If you would like to exit your vehicle, please park in the parking lot.
- Do not pass cars that are waiting for students exiting a bus. Drivers are required by Massachusetts law to come to a complete stop while students enter and exit the bus.
Please remember these guidelines are to keep our students safe, which is the main priority of us all.
Have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
Rosa Flynn

The Giving Tree -- Below is the wish list for the Giving Tree 2021. This year we are again sending it out virtually instead of having a lot of people come into the school to get tags. Thank you in advance for all you do for these families. All gifts should come back unwrapped with a piece of paper or sticky note with their code attached. Thank you to Ms. Faughnan for organizing this wonderful opportunity to give back each year!

Preparing for Winter Weather
There has definitely been a chill in the air lately, and we continue to make our best effort to have students outdoors as much as possible. When the air temperature or wind chill factor is 20 degrees or below, students will remain indoors, and precipitation is also always taken into account. If there is indoor arrival, a flag will be out at the main entrance, and we will also be mounting a second flag outside of Door 8 in the near future. All students may enter through the main entrance during indoor arrival.
Please make sure your child is dressed for the cold temperatures each day, with a warm coat, hat, and mittens or gloves.Thank you for your continued support and cooperation!
