Painting in Process!

Good Afternoon Families,

We hope you had a fantastic weekend. Evergreen Academy has been busy this morning preparing for our exterior painting project! Forgive our mess as power washing of our buildings has begun. If the weather cooperates we should begin the actual painting next week.

Thank you to those families who were able to join us for our Curriculum Nights last week. We are so thankful to have families deeply invested in their child(ren)'s education. We hope that it was an informational time for you and that you left as excited about the year as we are! If you were unable to attend, please feel free to contact your child's teacher at anytime with questions or concerns. We look forward to meeting with 4th and 5th grade parents Tuesday night at 6:00 - 7:15 in your child's classroom.

IslandWood Update

Our 4th and 5th grade students returned safe and sound from their four day adventure at IslandWood on Bainbridge Island. This was such a special week for students in terms of team building and outdoor learning. They participated in field studies in the garden and at the harbor, they sang, had campfires, played games and learned about themselves. We are grateful our students were able to have this incredible opportunity! Special thanks to our teachers Mrs. Drew and Mrs. Bush for taking time away from their families as well as our two parent chaperones Anurag Handa and Laurie Tatalick, we appreciate the support and care you gave the children!

Enrichment Classes Begin this Week!

We are so excited to offer a variety of after school enrichment programs for your child(ren)! Classes run from 3:45-4:45. Following classroom dismissal, participating children will be taken to our Extended Care Building (side gate that leads to portable) by their assistant teacher. During this time children will have an opportunity to use the restroom, have a provided snack, and listen to a story (There is NO CHARGE for extended care between dismissal and the beginning of class). At 3:45, enrichment teachers will pick students up and take them to their individual class locations. At 4:45 PM, teachers will bring student back to our Extended Care Building for parent pick-up. There will be a folding sign outside of the gate directing you. If YOU have an idea for a class you'd like to see next session please let us know!

Adults Need Recess Too! - Looking for Recess Parent Volunteers to Play WITH Students

We would love you for you to join us at recess… this could be shooting baskets, playing Four Square, Jump Rope or tag. This does not mean monitoring; this is active participation!

By playing WITH the students you will encourage playing with friends, help them learn game rules, and also model good sportsmanship and recess choices.

So put on your sneakers and come play!

If you are interested in taking an active role at recess time, please sign up! We will need a completed back ground check and then we can add you to our recess rotation.

Please contact Danu McQuade to be in our schedule or with any questions.
