NJSD Job Vacancies for 2023-24
Certified job vacancies due to retirements, resignations or changed assignments are in the link below. If you are interested in making a change for next year, please complete the form and press "submit," so that we can note your interest. Shortly after this internal posting goes live, the vacancies will be posted on WECAN.
Non-certified vacancies will be posted separately and within the next several weeks. This list of certified vacancies will be updated regularly, if new vacancies emerge.
Some things you should take into consideration if you are seeking a transfer:
1. You will only be considered for a transfer for the amount of time a job remains listed on our form, usually just over a week.
2. You need to inform your current principal that you are considering a transfer.
3. You will only be considered for transfer two times for a given school year.
Thank you for all you do!

Facilities Transition Q&A Has Been Updated
March is Women's History Month
Since 1995, presidents have issued a series of annual proclamations designating the month of March as “Women’s History Month.” These proclamations celebrate the contributions women have made to the United States and recognize the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in a variety of fields (Really, only since 1995?).
One interesting lesson plan to celebrate the importance of women in WWII, would be discussion around the “Telephone Girls” who were employed to relay difficult and undesirable messages and thought more suited for the job because of their affect and “sweet voices.” Below is a link to a podcast, several articles and a lesson plan around gender norms and equality including guiding questions. Interestingly, they were also hired by phone companies to act as sort of a 411 operator to answer questions about time, the score of a game and even to make wake up calls to ensure a businessman got to his train on time!
Here is an 1905 article from the Library of Congress detailing the woes of Telephone Girls of the time
Roosevelt Walkthrough Set for Sunday
The public is invited to rekindle their memories and experiences at Roosevelt School with a walkthrough of the 100-year-old building on Sunday, March 19 from 1-3 p.m.
The event will feature an opportunity for the public to take a self-guided tour of the school that will close at the end of the 2022-23 school year. There will be photos and memorabilia posted around the building and current staff members will help answer questions and provide assistance. There is no need to register in advance and people are welcome to arrive anytime in the two-hour window.
Final Milestone Moment at New NHS Set for March 29
The public is invited to visit the new Neenah High School for an update on the construction progress on Wednesday, March 29 from 4-5 p.m. in the fourth and final “Milestone Moment” event.
Miron construction staffers will lead visitors through an informative visit of the site with specific explanations about the stages of the construction. The event does not require hard hats, but visitors are advised to dress accordingly and wear closed-toe shoes. Visitors should also be prepared for muddy conditions on the site.
This will be the final “Milestone Moment” until the official dedication ceremonies take place in August. The latest images of the site are available on the District website.

Next EFN Grant Request Deadline is April 7
The Educational Foundation of the Neenah Joint School District (EFN) provides a wonderful opportunity for NJSD staff members to receive funding for new and innovative teaching practices and programs, programs designed to address the developmental, emotional and social needs of students, and other school related programs and clubs. EFN has funded small requests of as little as $200-330 and large requests of as much as several thousand dollars.
If you do submit a grant application, please provide a detailed description of your project (the more we know the better we can evaluate your request) and any documentation you have to verify or estimate the cost of your project. Upon receipt of a grant application, EFN will contact you to arrange for your appearance at our next scheduled board meeting so you can appear via zoom meeting to answer any questions the EFN board may have about your grant request and to present any relevant information not contained in the grant application.
The next grant request deadline is Friday, April 7. Click here for more information and to submit a grant request.
