Regulations
The government controls all the land in Hong Kong but the economy has benefited from it's small commitment to small government, low taxes, and light regulation. Major industries include financial services and shipping. The economy has become increasingly integrated with China throughout trade, tourism, and financial links.
Current Disasters
Some disasters currently happening in Hong Kong are pro democracy protests that are drawing thousands of young residents of the former British colony into the streets of a massive but peaceful movement of civil resistance to Beijing's plan to screen candidates for the post of the city's leader or chief executive.
Differences between Hong Kong and the U.S
We have a large government with average taxes. We do not have a lot in common with Hong Kong because they have a lot of tourism but we do not so that causes a lot of the things that happen there because of tourism.
