Saber Speak
Dear Saber Families,
With just 8 days remaining before 8th grade promotion, we are truly in the home stretch. As we wind down an exciting and successful year, please keep in mind the following:
* Tomorrow, May 27, is Memorial Day. School will be closed in observance of the holiday.
* This week on Thursday is the deadline for 8th graders to demonstrate that they are eligible for promotion. Emails and phone calls have been going out to families regarding promotion status. If you have any questions about your child's promotion status, please check Aeries and/or reach out to any member of the administration immediately. We will be calling families of non-promoting students on Friday, May 31st.
* Next week, there are THREE MINIMUM DAYS! Wednesday, June 5th, Thursday, June 6th, and Friday, June 7th, are all minimum days. For all minimum days, drop off is 8:15am and pick up is 12:35pm.
* Please note that for all students, June 7th is a school day.
* If you have not preordered a yearbook this year, the last day to do so is TOMORROW, MAY 27th. It is important that you do preorder a yearbook, as the school's extra supply is very limited this year. Buying one online guarantees that you will get one. Please visit our website and click on the Student Store link to place your order ASAP!
Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for being part of the Saber Family!
Sincerely,
Bradley Torti

Sinaloa Sabers,
Parents please be sure your students are reading. AR points are part of their English grades. Students need to make sure they are reading an AR approved book and an AR test is taken when the book is completed. Students need to get their parent/ guardians signatures once the test is taken. Please check in with your student, ask them about the books being read and how many points have been earned so far this semester.
Mark your calendars for these exciting events happening at Sinaloa.

Attendance Policies
Attendance Phone Line: 805-520-6830 Press 1, or Ext. 7021 (Can call anytime day or night)
Para espanol, oprima la estrella. (Llama dia o noche)
ABSENCES - Parents have five (5) days to call-in, email, or send in a note to the attendance office to excuse an absence otherwise it becomes truant. Keep in mind that personal/vacation are verified but still considered unexcused.
TARDIES - If a student is tardy to homeroom or late to school, they need to check-in with the attendance office to get a tardy pass. Students tardy to homeroom will have a 15 minute detention after school unless a parent calls, emails, or sends in a note to excuse the tardy. Excessive tardies to classes will affect "citizenship" grade.
EARLY PICK-UPS - We encourage parents to call-in ahead of time (or send in a note or email) for early pick-ups so that we can have the student in the office ready to go. Anyone checking-out a student must be listed on the student's emergency contact list, be 18 years or older, and must show a valid ID.
