Imperialism affected hawaii, because when they became the 50th state they were one of our protectives. They also had a lot of people from the states come in and there was a big thing about racism then.

Queen Liliuokalani was important for Hawaii because after she became into power she was overthrown by sugar planters. That began the beginning of the rebellion to make Hawaii free too.

Sanford became the president of Hawaii after Queen Liliuokalani was overthrown. He was the one that agreed with the U.S. to become one of the states.
