World War 1
The war started on July 28, 1914 and ended on the 11th month of the 11th day at the 11th hour in 1918. The major powers involved were the Triple alliance and the Entente Alliance. The Triple alliance consisted of the Ottoman Empire (Turkey), Germany, and Austria Hungary. The British, Russians, French, Italy, and later USA were apart of the Entente Alliance. 9,911,000 people died from the war on both sides. The war was said to be the War to End all Wars. But that was not the case 9 years later.
After the War
The Four Major powers David Lloyd George, Vittorio Orlando, Georges Clemenceau, and Woodrow wilson all signed the Treaty of Versailles. The treaty divided up the land in Europe, the Major Four decided who got what land. Russia was hit hard because they were not represented at the meeting. Russia lost the most land. Germany was held responsible for everything even though they did not start it. Austria-Hungary, was the starter and they were minimized in their land. Germany had to rebuild and repay what was ruined by the war. Germany went into a Great Depression and was desperate. That treaty created the spark that would light the flame to Hitler's power in the next World War.
