Congratulations to Rebecca Hassell 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year!
Mrs. Hassell has been teaching grades K-2 at Grandy Primary School in Camden County NC for 28 years. She was a product of Camden and has helped lay the academic foundation for hundreds of students at Grandy Primary School. Mrs. Hassell is respected by the students, staff, and the Camden Community. She is best known for her compassion and dedication towards making learning fun for her students.

Congratulations to Rachel Joyner 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year!
Ms. Rachel Joyner, 6th- Grade Science Teacher, Camden Intermediate's 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year is passionate about her students---often saying "I come here every day for my students." She is especially energized about teaching her "favorite" subject Science. She engages her students in hands-on activities and presentations. But not only is she passionate about learning she also demonstrates that she cares greatly about the students' lives in general.

CAMDEN MIDDLE SCHOOL
Congratulations to Colleen Lyston 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year!
Mrs. Lyston strives to make school a place where every student finds success, feels welcome and grows as part of a learning community. She enjoys the challenge of reaching struggling learners and collaborating with colleagues. Mrs. Lyston works with students with a variety of disabilities, including Autism, Learning Differences, Emotional, Behavioral challenges and Intellectual Disabilities.
Mrs. Lyston has 26 years’ teaching experience in North Carolina and Virginia and received her MS Ed from Old Dominion University in Special Education/Exceptional Children and Reading. She has worked with students in middle and high schools as well as an alternative school. She has served as the Leadership of EC/Special Education departments and Child Study Committees in both North Carolina and Virginia and has obtained a Reading Specialist Certification in order to better meet the needs of struggling students. Thank you, Mrs. Lyston for all you do for the students at Camden Middle School!

CAMDEN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL
Congratulations to Jennifer Glass 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year!
Camden County High School’s Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Jennifer Glass. Mrs. Glass received her B.S. in Biology from Tennessee Technological University and obtained a M.S. in Biology from Elizabeth City State University. She began teaching in 2002 in northeastern North Carolina and has been at Camden County High School since 2012. She serves on various committees at the high school including being a vital member of the School Improvement Team and one of our lead teachers during remote learning. She currently teaches Physical Science, Chemistry, Physics, and AP Environmental Science at CCHS.

CAMDEN EARLY COLLEGE
Ms. Lilly is an exceptional children’s teacher who has been in education for the past 12 years. She assists students with their high school classes and also assists them with their transition to the local community college. Jennifer Lilly has been characterized by coworkers as a “teacher who will work no matter the time of day to ensure that her school and students are taken care of.”

CAMDEN COUNTY SCHOOLS
Due to COVID, the yearly teacher recognition ceremony at MACU was canceled and the District was also unable to host the Teacher of the Year dinner at Montero's. Therefore, last week the District honored last year's recipients during a luncheon!
