Parent Academy

Join us for a 12 week Parent Academy program that will leave you feeling empowered and able to support your child success. Classes will be held every Thursday at 9 am in both Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs Family Centers. Classes will begin on February 2, 2023. A graduation ceremony will be held in May.

Empowering Parents

This course will be presented by Tammy Heo, M.S., BCBA, Behavior Analyst for Student Support Services and members of the PSUSD Behavior Support Team. These sessions will focus on how parents can help improve play and friendship skills in their children using encouragement and positive language. Also sharing easy activities to practice at home to build a connection and improve behavior. We look forward to seeing you!

Family Drum Circle

Families will play and grow together in this unique monthly experience. Drumming will be taught by Healing Rhythms and Sankofa Drum Circle. No experience necessary.

Rising Stars Awards & Family Dance

Technology Support

Family and Community Engagement Specialist

Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Specialists serve to connect families, school and the community. A FACE Specialist develops a strong partnership between families and schools by building parent capacity, fostering trusting relationships and ensuring two-way communication. Specialists are responsible for coordinating and conducting various family and community outreach programs. Specialists conduct informational meetings and provide guidance to families on how to assist students with reaching their academic and social goals. Specialists will also convey information regarding school and/or district activities and procedures and refer families to other agencies. Please email familycenter@psusd.us for more information.
