Personalized Learning Update
LGHS and Cohort 16
Grant Update
The Design Team received their next task to complete. We are working on our school's Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP) that will be the foundation of our work with Personalized Learning; the goals will reflect the work that we have already begun. Our second task is to generate a tentative budget that we will submit to district personnel. The district will determine which items we actually receive. The majority of the funds will be allocated to Professional Development.
Math
Ms. Teague created a menu of choices for her math students; they begin with an appetizer and work their way to desserts. She also finds time to provide direct instruction when her students need it.
Science
14 LGHS students participated in the Henry Regional Science and Engineering Fair on Wednesday, January 27th. These students analyzed real world issues for authentic audiences.
Language Arts
Mrs. Hardy's students are learning and completing vocabulary-related tasks via Google Classroom. Their classroom is definitely tech-enabled!
Kimberly's Korner
Blended/Flipped learning is starting to take off at LGHS. We have teachers in several content areas that are trying different ways to make things more organized for their students and themselves.
Blended and Flipped models are not having every student using the computer every day; it is simply students using technology to learn.
