Sunset Newsletter
October 2021
From the desk of Dr. McDaniel
We've made it to October and that means the end of the 1st Quarter is near! Can you believe we have been in school for seven weeks? Things are going well and I look forward to all of the great things that are planned this month!
One of the most important events this month is Parent-Teacher Conferences! We need 100% of our parents to participate in Parent-Teacher Conferences. It is so important for us to be a TEAM when it comes to your child's education. Learn how we can work together to bring out the best in your child. Teachers will be reaching out to schedule those virtual conferences.

Parent Teacher Conferences
It's time to meet with the teacher and see how your child is progressing this school year. If you have not already signed up for a VIRTUAL conference time, please do so. Teachers have already begun sending out sing up links! Please make sure you secure your virtual conference time!
Conferences are on Oct 7th from 4:30-7:45 PM and Oct 12th from 4:30- 7:45 PM. Please make every effort to sign up for and meet with your child's teacher.
BE KIND in the Car Pick-up Line
1. While in line waiting, resident's driveways should never be blocked. We need to respect our neighbors and their ability to enter and leave their homes whenever necessary.
2. We cannot cut the line or allow others to cut the line. Treat our car pick-up line just as you would treat a line at McDonald's or the bank. We proceed to the end of the line and wait our turn. Cutting the line prevents our staff member from getting your car tag entered in a timely manner which causes you to have to wait at the front.
Please WAIT YOUR TURN!
FREE Food Pick Up
Changes to LUNCH and Free/Reduced Applications
In addition, we want to remind you that although meals are free this year, it’s important for every family to fill out the Free and Reduced application. Even if you don’t think your family qualifies, please fill out the form.
Anyone who completes the application by September 30 will be included in a drawing for a free Vizio 50-inch 4K Smart TV. The winner will be selected from ALL applicants, even if they do not ultimately qualify for lunch benefits. The drawing will be held on October 11, and the winner will be notified by phone. Any family who submitted an application for this school year is already entered and does not need to fill out a second application to be registered in the drawing.
