These teenagers in the 40s and 50s all either had it easy fitting in or had it hard. If I were to be in these times and facing this barrage of expectations and values from scoiety, it would take me a while. All the fancy clothes, cars, and excessories that are displayed in ads and pictures make it feel like everyone had to have it. Having those items or playing on varsity football made you a cool kid and without those things, you are nothing. What would make this impossible to fit in is money. Money made the kids who could afford nice things seem better than the others because they don't have the same thing. I would try to act the same way as everyone else just so i could feel wanted and needed in a group or society.
