Elementary Physical Education
We always have a "Ball" in phys. ed.

Pictured and described below are the various activities that students are learning about and participating in as part of their physical education curriculum.
Scooters-Battleship
Grades 2 & 3 are now using scooters. Pictured is a popular game called "Battleship". Students work in teams and maneuver their ship to hit the cone off of the other battleships.
Parachute
Grades K & 1 are using the parachute. Pictured is the ever popular "Popcorn" game. a number of balls are placed on the parachute. Students shake the parachute until all of the balls have "popped" off of the parachute.
Tchouk-ball
Grades 4 through 6 are playing a game called Tchoukball. In this game teams of 7 attempt to pass and throw the ball off of the rebounder such that the opposing team can not catch it prior to the ball touching the floor.

FOCUS ON FITNESS
In grades 4-6 each day students have a portion of class focusing on a particular aspect of their physical fitness (cardio-respiratory endurance, muscular strength & endurance)
Elastic Bands
Students use elastic bands to build Muscular endurance
Stability Ball
Students complete exercises with the ball to build core strength
Medicine Balls
Students complete exercises to build strength and endurance.
