News from Mr. Schettler
Social-emotional learning (SEL) has been becoming a more important piece of school-wide curriculum over the past decade. In our SEL activities, we have been focusing on the importance of understanding your own feelings and having empathy for others. We also have discussed how important it is to understand that our thoughts influence our feelings, which lead to our actions. We have really strived to encourage our students to be mindful of the thoughts that they are having, and the importance of trying to keep a positive mindset even during times of difficulty. By keeping a positive attitude, you increase your chances of having a positive result.
We continue to have sickness throughout the building, so keeping our hands washed and using the sanitizing stations have been a priority as of late.
This past week we celebrated our paraprofessionals, as Governor Walz declared January 27-31 Paraprofessional Recognition Week. Our paraprofessionals do an excellent job with our students, helping them consistently throughout the day. The time and effort they put forth to help our students is greatly appreciated, so thank you paraprofessionals!
Wishing you a happy and healthy February.

0-5 Census Form
Every Minnestoa School District is required by law to maintain an annual birth – 5 year old census. This information is used by the Minnesota Department of Education to determine our District’s share of State Education dollars.
The Adrian School District will use these records to notify district parents about ECFE classes (Early Childhood & Family Education), Preschool Screening (starting at age 3) and Kindergarten Roundup held in the Spring (prior to school entrance).
Please visit our website at www.isd511.net to fill out a census form or call Adrian Elementary at 507.483.2225 for more details.
