Making Music 2021 Style!
This school year has presented many challenges and we continue to be grateful for the innovation of our teachers and the resilience of our students. Our fifth graders who play instruments have been practicing virtually since the fall. On Monday, they held a virtual district-wide concert for their families. The children were very excited for this unique concert. They played 4 songs for their families with the SmartMusic program playing a band arrangement in the background. The students were all on mute because it would have been chaotic with all of the delays. It truly was special because for first time parents could only hear their child playing. On January 20th, the fourth grade students taking instrumental lessons will have the same concert opportunity.
Special thanks to Mr. Sedlacsik and Mr. Kuczynski, our instrumental music teachers, for their dedication and creativity to help our students grow their musical skills!

Return to Hybrid Learning Reminders
- Kindergarten students will return to school five days per week (beginning on Monday), and students in grades 1-5 will return on their designated cohort days. Students in grades 1-5 will attend school on the same days that they were attending before we switched back to virtual at the end of November. Mondays will remain virtual for students in grades 1-5.
- As a reminder, we begin admitting children into the building each morning at 8:30am, and dismissal will begin at 2:50pm.
- All students and staff are expected to wear masks both in the school building and at recess. Teachers will build in mask breaks at designated times throughout the day. We are recommending that students bring multiple masks to school in case any of their masks were to become damaged or lost. If your child has a specific need that may conflict with this requirement, a doctor’s note is required.
- Breakfast and lunch continue to be free for all students. If your child is participating in the school district breakfast program, meals will be provided as they enter the building in a grab-n-go, brown bag style. Breakfast and lunch will be eaten in the classrooms. Each lunch meal will come with a fresh fruit, fresh vegetable, and drink. Meals will be delivered to students in a sealed container with the child’s name written on the bag/container. Menus can be found on our website here: https://www.hatboro-horsham.org/Page/312
Car Line Tips
Here are a few ways that you can help the car line move smoothly:
- Please always have your child exit and enter the vehicle from the curbside door.
- Have your child ready to leave the vehicle when you get to the front of the arrival line - mask on and backpack nearby.
- Stay in line and do not pull around other vehicles, unless you are exiting the car line.
- Please refrain from using your cell phone in car line so that you can hear staff instructions and ensure everyone's safety.
- Display your family's dismissal number clearly on your rearview mirror. This helps our staff to quickly put your number in the system to alert the teacher that you have arrived.
- For younger children, have their dismissal number on their backpack to help us match your child to your vehicle.
- Please show kindness and grace to others. Others may also have somewhere to be after car line. If we are patient, we will get everyone safely to their next destination.
