Wolf Creek Weekly
Building Pathways To Success
From The Principal's Desk August 23, 2020
Greetings!
We made it! Week 1 is behind us and you did it. We know that there were a few log on glitches and some technology issues but overall, it was a great week. As administration team members visited classes throughout the week, we witnessed high engagement between students, teachers and parents. Many teachers spent time providing guidance to students on how to access their classes and assignments and helping everyone get acclimated to the online learning. Hats off to our phenomenal Super Hero staff members for their great work! We will spend this week continuing to ensure that students and acclimated to their learning environment. If any assistance is needed, please let us know.
We need to reach all parents. Last week, we reached a record high number of approximately 800 of our projected 812 students! That's a great feat during this virtual school experience! If you know of family, neighbors or friends that have not been in contact with the school and their scholar's teacher, please encourage them to get in touch with us.
Teachers have uploaded new rosters in Class Dojo and should be in consistent communication with students and parents at this time. All students should be able to access their teacher through their Classlink accounts. Please have them log on at 8:00 AM to allow a window of time for troubleshooting if needed. Teachers will record their daily lessons and have them accessible for students and parents. Please allow time for the streaming of recordings to upload. This could take a few hours. We have seen the recordings as soon as 2 hours to 24. We will monitor closely over the first few days to ensure we have a clear picture of how the recordings are posting and how you are able to access them. If you have any questions, email your child's teacher directly or message them on Class Dojo.
We will continue to use Messenger, Infinite Campus, emails, Class Dojo and the school website to get information to you. We try to duplicate messages on all communication methods to ensure that you get information.
All teachers will follow the district learning packets for weeks 1 and 2. As teachers adjust instruction, they will notify parents. All of our teachers will also provide online live instruction daily. They will provide a balanced approach of synchronous (live online with teacher) and asynchronous (self-paced learning by student) instruction.
Learning packets for week #2 are available via hard copy at the school and can be found at the links below:

IMPORTANT It is important that each parent register for your Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account. Please register as soon as possible. This will be important for access to daily lessons with teachers via your child's Classlink account. All students have a Classlink account and it is a one stop shop for all instructional sessions. Students previously enrolled have access now, this did not change. New students will be provided steps to log on by their teachers during Open House.
Are you registered for your Parent Portal Account? If not, please register. Everything you need as a parent is in the parent portal account. You are able to monitor your student's grades throughout the school year, review your child's schedule, pull report cards, update your contact information, register other students within your household, and so much more! Please click the link provided to register.

Back to School Assessment - iReady Diagnostic
It is time for us to take the iReady Diagnostic for Reading and Math. Only the 3rd-5th grade students will take the assessment virtually with their teacher. The diagnostic is not your traditional assessment. It begins with the student responding to questions for each domain in reading and math. The diagnostic adapts based on the student’s response on the questions. The data gives us information to place students on a personalized path.
Teachers will let parents and students know their individual testing schedule. Please review the links which will provide you with additional information for the iReady Diagnostic and how to prepare your child(ren) at home for the assessment. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teachers.
