Third Grade

A Note From 3rd Grade
Dear 3rd Grade Eagles,
It is hard to believe that we have been doing distance learning for 9 weeks now. We still miss you so much! We have many fun things for you to learn this week and hope you enjoy them. We love seeing your faces through pictures, Zoom calls, and more. Please continue to turn in your work and refer to the checklist on what is due each week. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to your child's teacher. We are here to help!
Love,
Ms. Feagin, Ms. Ross, Ms. Clopton, Mrs. Reagan, Mrs. Hudson, Ms. Harding, and Mr. Garza
Llamas are a very gentle, shy and a very curious animal. They are also intelligent and can learn simple tasks after a few repetitions.

Choose a few narrative non-fiction texts from your library, Epic, Scholastic.com, etc. As you read, stop and jot:
- Stop and Jot 1: What was the lesson that the character learned at the end of the chapter or story? Can I say this in a word or phrase and point to the parts of the story that supports my idea?
- Stop and Jot 2: Write down a few sentences about the big life lesson (theme) that the character has learned. I used parts of the story to support my thinking.
- Stop and Jot 3: Write down the theme of the story that I have just read and make sure that the theme applies to the majority of the story. After this is decided, I can go back and jot textual details from across the text that supports my theme.
