JHS- CAREER PREP SPEAKERS
On October 22 Mr. Morrow’s Career Prep students entertained nine speakers from the Calhoun County Community. Each speaker presented a different topic as it relates to the workplace. A few of the topics covered by the speakers were professionalism, goal setting, time management, organization, and interview skills. Speakers provided insight into the “real world” and provided thought-provoking questions for students to consider concerning their future occupation. Students were allowed to ask questions of each speaker gaining valuable information and skills as it pertains to the students’ chosen field.
One of the favorite visitors of the day was Quimby the Comfort Dog from K.L. Brown Funeral Home. Other businesses and organizations represented were Keller Williams Realty, Farmers & Merchants Bank, BBVA Bank, Jacksonville State University, and Gadsden State Community College. Special thanks to our Career Coach Cindy Turner and Krychelle Smith from the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce for helping to organize the event.

If you did not make it to Kitty Stone's annual Book Fair and Family Night, you really missed a treat! These lovely ladies served just about any chilli you could think of with a smile as families made their way to the cafeteria after participating in the book fair. Pictured from left to right are: Tanya Miller (KSE's PTO Vice President, JYFA Director and C Team Cheer Coach), Jenny Doss (KSE's awesome Secretary), and Elizabeth Knox (KSE's PTO President and JHS' Band Booster Secretary). Thank you wonderful ladies for your service and for all of the delectable toppings that were provided for our delicious chilli!
