A Message From Principal Choquette 9/14/18
Good afternoon, I hope you all had a nice week. We had another wonderful family dinner on Wednesday night with our first grade families. It was nice to be able to see some returning faces and meet some new ones as well. Thank you again to our amazing PTO for hosting our family dinners.
Many of you may not know that I am pursuing my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at Boston College. This weekend kicks off the start of my second year of three. What I love about the Boston College program is that is it grounded in social justice. Social Justice Leadership is my area of focus as is inclusion. I'm looking forward to this upcoming year of study and the beginning stages of my dissertation. The program is one weekend a month, with the exception of September and April, those months are two weekends. It is also includes two full weeks in the summer. Classes are on Fridays and Saturdays. On the Fridays that I am gone, Miss Nora is the acting principal. I not only look at this opportunity as a tremendous learning experience for me, but I also see it as me being able to give back to the school district, the learning I obtained during my three years of study.
As a reminder, if your plans change for your children for how they are going home, it is really important that we get a note or a phone call. Children will be sent home the way they typically do if we did not receive notification that they should go home another way.
I know parking is an issue at Bridge Street School. Please park on the side streets around the school and follow the city rules around parking. They will ticket you if you are less than five feet from a driveway. Also, please do not drop off or pick up your children by the cemetery and have them cross the street in front of the buses. We are having children dart out into the road in front of buses and ongoing traffic which is unsafe. There is no parking in the bus loop during pick-up and drop-off times as well. Thank you for your cooperation.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Update on Library Renovation
At this time, students will not be able to check-out books as all 10,000+ books are all packed in boxes!
Thank you for your patience. We can't wait for the big reveal!
