Monday Memo
Summer Edition - June
Individual commitment to a group effort -- that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.
Team,
At Converge, Kasey Bell asked teachers to consider what the role of mistakes were in their classrooms. As we consider growth mindsets, risk taking, problem solving and the soft skills needed to be successful in the world our students will work in, it is imperative that we are able to clearly articulate the answer to this question. Please spend time thinking about your response to this so that you can verbalize it to your students the first week of school. How you communicate this message will likely set the trajectory for student success in your room. No pressure. ;)
On a much lighter note, I hope that you are enjoying life at a much slower pace and are finding ways to recharge and spend meaningful time with your family and friends. If you have a few fun pics that capture some of the highlights of your summer that you don't mind sharing, please email them to me. Much like I've done in the past, I would like to put together a little something for Academy.
The carpet team has cleaned our carpets. They need to come back and treat a few spots that did not come up with the basic cleaning and also strip and wax our tile floors. We will update you on their progress so that you know when it is safe to begin working in your rooms.
July 19th the only day this summer that parents can register new students at Central Office. After that day, parents will need to wait until August 1st. This is when registration opens back up on our campus. If you will, please share this on your social media accounts and encourage everyone to go on July 19th. Our staffing numbers in Kinder and 1st are questionable, and the sooner we know how many students we actually have, the quicker the district can make decisions about how many sections we will have in each grade level. Your help would be greatly appreciated by all who are impacted by these critical decisions.
Make today count!
