BHS S1 Final Exam Information
BHS recognizes the flexibility and grit of students throughout the first semester. As such, semester final exams for all classes will be suspended. Additionally, students may be provided with an opportunity to revisit course work on December 21st and 22nd. Teachers will share participation expectations for these days between December 7th and December 14th. Students and parents will be able to access this information through Infinite Campus.
The info below describes how teachers will use these last two days for different groups of students. Students may be in several different groups depending on their performance in each course.
Optional Attendance on 12.21 & 12.22
- Group 1 Students have completed all elements of the course and provided evidence at a consistent level of performance. Additional evidence would not change the grade.
- Students may choose to participate in possible enrichment activities, but there is no requirement to participate.
- Selected courses may strongly encourage participation on these days. Teachers will share specifics for their courses, but many Advanced Placement and Dual Credit courses will take advantage of these days.
- BHS S1 Final Grade Status = Complete
Optional Attendance on 12.21 & 12.22
Group 2 Students have completed all elements of the course and provided evidence at an inconsistent level of performance. Additional evidence could improve a C+ to a B- or a B+ to an A-.
- Students have the opportunity, but are not required, to participate.
- Although additional evidence may result in a higher grade, the student's grade cannot be impacted negatively.
- Providing additional evidence does not guarantee a higher grade.
- BHS S1 Final Grade Status = Optional
Mandatory Attendance on 12.21 & 12.22
- Group 3 Students are missing one or two major assessments/assignments OR have performed significantly below their typical level of achievement on a specific grading task. Additional evidence could improve their Final Grade.
- Participation in order to provide additional evidence is required of students.
- Although additional evidence may result in a higher grade, the student's grade cannot be impacted negatively.
- Providing additional evidence does not guarantee a higher grade.
- BHS S1 Final Grade Status = Incomplete

Honor a D220 staff member with a holiday Teacher Tribute
Looking for help with your holiday shopping list? Consider honoring your child’s teacher, or any district staff person, with a Teacher Tribute from the Barrington 220 Educational Foundation. The Honoree will receive a personalized card delivered prior to winter break, acknowledging your donation to the Foundation. Orders must be received by December 14.
Social and Emotion Survey
Our school values input from our students to continue to monitor and improve programming for your children in the areas of Social and Emotional Learning.
In order to learn more about the experiences of your child at school, we are asking for their feedback via a brief online survey that will be administered prior on December 09, 2020 during PE class. This experience is similar to the SEL surveys conducted over the last 2 years.
All survey responses are confidential. No students at our school will see how your child responds to the questions. A separate organization, ECRA Consulting, will manage all data collection to ensure confidentiality.
The survey will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete, and will be an invaluable source of information for Barrington 220 as we work to improve upon the support for our students in the area of social emotional learning.
If you do not want your student(s) to participate in the survey, please complete this form prior to December 09, 2020.
