A Message from Mrs. Johnson

Hello Bryant families,

If your child misse picture day on Friday, October 6th, no need to worry. Make up day is scheduled for October 13th. We will make sure all students who were marked absent has their picture taken.

We need your help! We still have about half of our school population that has not finalized the parent data confirmation process. This is an important step in ensuring the information on file with the site and school district is accurate. If you have not already done so, please be sure to finalize this process by October 27th. If you need help, you can stop by the front office. We have chromebook sets up so we can support parents as needed.

As always, thank you so much for being such wonderful partners. Have a fantastic week!

Aeries Data Confirmation

Bryant families! We still have about 50% of our school population that has not finalized thier data confirmation in Aeries. This process is important to ensure we have all of the most current information related to parent and emergency contact info. Parent must also update all district permission forms. If you have not already finalized your data confirmation, please do so by October 27, 2023. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and attention to this important matter.

Walk-Bike to School Day!

Active trips to school enable children to incorporate the regular physical activity they need each day while also forming healthy habits that can last a lifetime. Regular physical activity helps children build strong bones, muscles and joints. In contrast, insufficient physical activity can contribute to chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer and stroke. On October 18th, Bryant will be participating in Walk-Bike to School Day! Please join us at Starbucks on the corner of Market and 3rd at 7:15 am. We will meet there as a school community and then walk-bike to school together. See you then!

Congratulations to our September Students of the Month

The Core Virtue for the month of October - Gratitude

Gratitude is thankfulness for the gift of life and the gifts in life. Gratitude is the act of recognizing and acknowledging the good things that happen, resulting in a state of appreciation. This month show your gratitide and appreciation toward other for the little things they do to make your day brighter.

This month, as part of our social-emotional development discussions, classes will discuss what it means and what it looks like to show gratitude. Please join us by talking with your child about showing gratitude and appreciation to others.

Who has the best attendance?

Mrs. Hara's class did it agin! Congratulations to Mrs. Hara and her super students for being recongized as the class with best attendance average last week. In addition to our students, parents are to be recongized for ensuring their children are at school, on time ready to go! Thank you for your support. Keep up the great work!

Join Our PTO

We are always looking for excited parents with great ideas to join our PTO. PTO will be hosting an ice cream party for the class with the most sign ups by October 27th. You can sign up using this digital link. Paper forms went home with students last week. You can always visit the front office for a new form if needed.

How do we check for student understanding

When giving an assignment or asking an essential question, it is important that teachers monitor/check for student understanding. That check does not always need to be a full assessment. Actually, you should have small checks before an assessment. At the time of the test students are expected to have a certain level of understanding. Checks help us to montior students along the way and modify our instruction based on student output. Students responses being recorded on the classroom focus wall is one way teachers can elicit a respond from EVERY STUDENT in the class, check for understanding, provide feedback, and make any necessary adjustments to instruction. Great job to our 6th grade team for their diligence!

Meet our School Counselor

You may have heard your children mention Mr. B. He host game club, helps on the playground, but most of all he provides our students in need with support to address social emotional needs that may be impacting their ability to maximize thier potential at school. Please take a few minutes to view this introductory video and brochure.
