Knightly Update January 16, 2022
ACP High School - Edition Vol 1 Issue 24
I hope you are enjoying the weekend. As we take time to reflect on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., his legacy and current circumstances, I do hope we take some time to think about what we might be doing for those around us; as Dr. King did for our nation. As Cory Booker shared, "small acts of decency ripple in ways we could never imagine." It takes but one person to start a ripple of change - so make your ripple, and make it a positive. As a reminder, school will not be in session on Monday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Students return to campus on Tuesday, January 18th. Enjoy the holiday.
This week, we will begin meeting with students individually to go over their course selection for the upcoming school year. Please make sure your child brings their completed and signed registration card to school each day until their meeting occurs. We will take time during these meetings to review requests, transcripts, future aspirations to make sure we are working collaboratively to set students up for success after graduation. I look forward to meeting with our students and preparing for the upcoming year.
The northern section of Brooks Farm Rd. will be complete when students and families arrive to campus on Tuesday. With the completion of this side of the road, all southern campus entrances, including the student parking lot entrance will be accessible. Students must enter the campus as they did prior to the construction. Brooks Farm Rd. will still be down to two lanes as work begins on the southern side of the road, so be prepared for possible congestion. I certainly appreciate your patience with the construction. Based on current progress, the work should be completed within the next 7-10 days.
I will be hosting a meeting for families interested in enrolling and/or learning more about ACP High School on Tuesday, January 25th at 6:00 PM in our school's auditorium. If you have any friends or neighbors that are interested in ACP, please encourage them to attend this event.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a relaxing and reflective Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. As always, please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for supporting your child and our school. Take care, and never stop dreaming.
Rob Bickes
Principal

The Class of 2022 will graduate on Thursday, May 26th and it's time to get your child's diploma ready to print. Please check Infinite Campus and verify that your child's First Name, Middle Name and Last Name is spelled correctly. If only your child's middle initial shows and you want their full middle name on the diploma, please let us know how it should read. It is very important that we hear from you by January 21, 2022. Please email Mrs. Wilson, wilson.roslyn@cusd80.com, and let her know if everything looks correct or if any corrections need to be made. Thank you.

Applicants and families are invited to attend the free event, which will feature a live concert, food and the State of the City address.

Please Make a Tax Credit Donation
If you are able to make your tax contributions early in the year, your donation would be greatly appreciated and give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50.00 per family for a total of $57,500.00 and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and our school!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
