Alder Weekly Update
October 23, 2022
Message from the Principal
Exciting things are happening in our school as we close out October and dive deeper into our academics!
This week we celebrated Red Ribbon Week. Our students embraced the themed days and engaged in activities that educated them on the dangers of drugs and alcohol. They took a pledge to be drug free!
Our 8th grade students had an opportunity to visit the high school at the Middle School Open House held this past week. Students got a taste of high school life by touring our beautiful building and visiting the many tables representing the academies, clubs, sports, and activities EHT High School offers.
The 1st Annual Renaissance Color Run was held on Saturday. It was a chilly morning but our colorful runners made the best of it and had a great time doing it! Check back next week for pictures!
Don't forget Monday is Black and Orange Day! Please remember no face paint or costumes.
Scroll down to see what your students accomplished in school this week!
Enjoy the beautiful fall weekend! Go Phillies!

Attendees from Alder and Fernwood Middle Schools participated in the X-STEM Nova Conference 2022 on Wednesday, October 26th in Washington, DC.
The conference provided students with a hands-on workshop. They were able to learn about careers and STEAM fields from engaging presenters, and Q&A sessions.

Afterwards, they played with their creation and completed a reflection sheet of how they could improve upon their toy by using everyday items that could be found around the house or classroom.

Student's in Mrs. Hegh's math class worked in small groups on vertical white boards to review for an upcoming test. Their task was to work through eight levels of an Escape Room which included a variety of activities involving addition and subtraction of rational numbers.
