Equal Opportunity Day!
By Jamie Tuck
Equal Opportunity Day!
Equality is a major part of modern society, though it may seem like days of discrimination are over, they are just less noticeable. Equal Opportunity Day is meant to celebrate how far we've come with equality, but also addresses the struggles we still have today. We need to make the struggles of equality noticed. We need to teach all people not to discriminate, and to be kind. These are reasons why this holiday should be celebrated and remembered. The holiday was inspired by Lincoln's Gettysburg address.
