A Note from Mrs. Williams

Hello Schluter Families!

We have completed our first full week of school, and students are already into their learning groove! I've been so proud of how students have gotten into their learning routines quickly and are eager to come to school each day!

As we continue to monitor our COVID positive numbers, please ensure you are staying current of all Schluter and NISD communication. Please continue to review emails as they come in as well as ensure there is room in your voicemail in case we use automated calls and need to leave a voicemail. If there is no answer when automated calls go out, the system automatically attempts to leave the information in a voicemail, but if it is full, it cannot. In the event of class or school closures, we would communicate via phone and email. Hopefully things will not come to that, but I want all of us to be informed, and for us to be able to contact you, if that were to happen.

As a reminder, if your child is sick, please do not send them to school. We are committed to following all NISD health and safety protocols here at school, and we also need your help. Please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with our NISD health and safety protocols, linked below, and promote healthy behaviors with your children. We will continue to do the same while students are here at school. While masks are not required, we strongly encourage the use of masks while students are inside of our school. I encourage all of us to do our part to help stop the spread of COVID-19. If your child tests positive for COVID, please report it using the link below or on the district website, and keep your child at home.

Please stay safe and well, and I hope you have a good weekend.

Updated Bus Route Information Available

As with the start of all school years in our fast-growth district, transportation was a challenge that will improve in the coming days. This year, more than 3,400 new bus riders joined already-completed bus routes in the few days since route information was emailed to families. With this challenge in mind, the district transportation department is in the process of adding these students and more to the existing routes and rerouting when needed. As with previous school years, this work will continue for the first week or two of school.

Route information will continue to be added to the district’s online route system, the MyView tracking app (available on the iOS App Store and Google Play), and in the Home Access Center. Thank you for your understanding as our transportation staff work diligently to meet the needs of all families.

Important Reminders

If you have not already filled out the daily transportation form for your student, please do so we have a record of how they get home everyday. This form will be closed on Sunday, August 22, 2021. If you have any questions, please contact the front office 817-698-3900 or email

A Message from Food Services

Free Meal Program Extended for Elementary, Middle Schools

All Northwest ISD students in elementary and middle school will continue receive free breakfast and lunch meals during the 2021-2022 school year! While students in high school will not take part in the same program, they can continue to apply for free or reduced-price meals.

Though meals are free to all elementary and middle school students, we strongly encourage families to continue to apply for the free and reduced-price meal program, as there are further benefits that can help reduce financial hardship. An accurate count of students in need also helps provide the appropriate programs at schools. Anyone who previously applied for the free or reduced-price meal program or believes they may now qualify based on their financial circumstances should still apply. This will also ensure these students receive free or reduced-cost meals for at least the first 30 days of the 2022-2023 school year.

Apply Now to NISD's Free and Reduced Meal Program!
