Important Information
Buckingham Student/Parent Handbook
Dear Parents,
Please be sure to review the Student/Parent Handbook. It is important that all families are familiar with Buckingham Policies and Procedures. It can be located on the website or by clicking the following LINK.
Absent Notes
As a reminder, if your child is absent - please remember to send an excuse note to school with your child the day in which he/she returns to school. A written note (or email to our main office) explaining the reason for the absence is a State requirement and essential for an absence to be excused. The Buckingham Office will send an automated phone reminder if your child is listed as absent. With questions, please contact the Main Office.
Absences due to Vacation - Must Complete Family Request Form
District Protocol requires parents to make advanced requests for excused absences due to family vacations that fall on regularly scheduled school-days. A form can be obtained from the Main Office and should be sent to the principal at least one-week prior to a planned absence. District allows for no more than 2 requests per/year and those requests cannot exceed a total of 5-days for any student. Any additional days above the 5-day limit will be labeled as unexcused.
Dismissal Changes
If there is ever a change in your child's typical dismissal plan (Bus Rider, After-School, or Back Porch), please send a note into school with your child or email the main office. An email to your classroom teacher is not recommended - as they could coincidentally be absent on the same day - and the note would not reach the appropriate staff for the change in dismissal notification.
NAESP: Report to Parents - Math
"A solid foundation in math is essential for students to succeed in school and beyond. Incorporate math into your family's daily life - without a lot of time, effort or expense - with these fun ideas..."
