FMS BLAST
April 19, 2022
Dear Parents,
This week we welcome the students back to campus for our last 28 days of the school year. That’s how close we are to the end of the year and to summer break. These last few weeks will be jam packed with activities and we sincerely hope that students will be attending every day, so they do not miss out on any of the planned events.
Most importantly right now is the upcoming state testing. It has been three years since the students have taken these high-stake assessments. The results will be very important for measuring their growth and determining how they fared during the pandemic with their academics. We ask that you make sure your students are present each day over the next several weeks. Help them to do well by having them at school on time. Make sure they have plenty of rest. Give them a good breakfast filled with protein. And please make sure they bring their chrome book daily fully charged. Send them to school with their charger on these days to make sure they can keep their chrome books charged, as the entire testing is done online. Also, students are encouraged to bring their own earbuds. These must be wired earbuds to be allowed during the testing.
Parents, students will not have their phones on them during the testing, so we ask that you refrain from texting or calling them. We are wanting to help them do the best they can by limiting their distractions. Encourage your children to do well and take these assessments seriously. In partnering together, we can support your child in performing to their full potential. Thank you for your assistance as we get through this very important time. Again, welcome back to the last stretch of the school year. I hope you have a good week.
Fondly,
Dr. Terri Daniels

Parents we want you to be aware: Lately we have noticed that some students are leaving campus after being dropped off at school in the morning to go to Target or other areas off campus.
Students need to understand that FMS is a CLOSED CAMPUS. Once they arrive, they are NOT to leave campus at all. Leaving campus once arrived, even if school has not started, is not allowed. This is a serious safety concern. Please reiterate with your child they must remain on campus.
Thank you.

A Note from the SAVE THE PLANET Club
This Friday (April 22) all students will have the opportunity to give back to the planet by participating in the Save the Planet Club’s first ever Earth Day Celebration, which also features Team Soteria from Vista Del Lago High School!
As most people may already be aware of, the planet’s current condition is at an all-time low. If the long summers, destructive wildfires, endless drought, and putrid air weren’t already a bright enough sign that the Earth’s climate is rising, let this be the last warning and first of many opportunities to take action to save the planet!
More details are to come about the grade levels that are to participate but it will be during students’ lunch period on Friday. During this time, students will rotate through various stations where students can pledge, compete, reuse, hunt, and learn how to save the planet! We encourage the students to join us to make FMS greener one small act at a time!
-Addie Luong, President of the Save the Planet Club at FMS
