School Dismissal Manager - Getting Ready to Launch!
We are looking to fully GO LIVE the fourth week of September!
- We will continue our current dismissal system and SDM the week before to allow transition.
- There will be a hard date when notes and emails will no longer be accepted to change dismissal.
- All dismissal changes must be completed by families online before 1 PM.
- Teachers will be instructed to use only SDM for dismissal.
- It is imperative that your child's default is set within the transition week as this will lock in and only the Office will be able to change defaults after September 17.
- We recommend our families plan ahead to decide default dismissal for a typical day, which adult will make exception changes and if any other adults will be view only adults on your account.
Attendance Updates
- If your student will be out for travel or another reason, please contact us!
- You can call day or night at 317-915-4270. Please leave a message after hours.
- You can email the attendance secretary at azjones@hse.k12.in.us, and your student's teacher.
- We need a reason for each student's absence every day. Our nurse will follow up if needed.
- School Dismissal Manager will also be a digital absence reporting option as we move forward.

SCE Receives Grant to Expand the Garden
Sand Creek Elementary will use the funds to expand their garden, upgrade the ventilation of their greenhouse, and support their agriculture programing that includes sustaining a flock of chickens for continued student learning of the natural world.
“I am so honored to receive this generous grant,” says Molly Coffman, who began Sand Creek’s garden initiative with the help of the school’s Art teacher, Amy DeBruyn. “It is a wonderful and much-needed opportunity for our school community. We can tie nearly all standards to nature with a little creative thinking. I can’t wait to see the exploration continue!”

TURNOVER HUNGER 2021 (September 7-10, 2021)
In past years, Hamilton Southeastern Education Foundation has facilitated PastaBowl, a food drive where local students donated pasta that was distributed to local food pantries the same week as the Mudsock football game. This year, partnering with Fishers Youth Assistance Program, HSEF is excited to announce the new Turnover Hunger program.
Through Turnover Hunger, we are asking all 22 HSE schools to help fill the shelves of FYAP and local food pantries with targeted food donations by students and staff. Between September 7-10, we are asking SCE families to donate boxed oatmeal or mac and cheese cups.
Thank you in advance for your support.
