Back to School Letters-Classroom
If you would like letters to go home with student homeroom assignments, please send Ashley and Jen a copy of the letter you would like to go home no later than Friday, August 5, 2016.
Home Visits-Weeks of August 8-19th
Home Visits are a powerful way to kick off a school year. Please email Ashley and Jen if you are interested in doing Home visits to students in your classroom between August 8-19th, this could be paid time or OAA time.
Building Access
Tim, Dori, and Marie have been working very hard to prepare our building for students. Currently, building cleaning is not complete and there is limited access to many parts of the building. I will be in communication over the course of the next week, with when the building will be open and everyone will have classroom access.
District Updates
Digital Citizenship Course Requirement for Students
- By Thursday, December 22, 2016 - All schools will have their students complete the appropriate grade level Digital Citizenship courses in a group setting or individually.
- In addition to completing the course, schools will be encouraged to continue to support students around digital citizenship topics such as internet safety and cyber-bullying awareness using other resources as in previous years. The Principal Assurance that documents that all students received instruction in internet safety and cyber-bullying awareness will still be completed by the end of the year.
2016-17 Districtwide Curriculum Events
Information pertaining to the 2016-17 district curriculum events can be found in the below. Similar to this year, schools with applicable grades would be expected to participate in these opportunities. Keep these dates in mind when developing your calendars for 2016-2017.

2016-17 Elementary Math and Science Curriculum Documents
All updated elementary math curriculum documents will be available on the Intranet by Monday, August 1st. This includes: revisions to Elementary Math CIG’s, revised Learning Goals and Scales, newly created Grade K5 and 1 Student-Friendly Learning Goals and Scales, and a revised K-5 Problem-Solving Overview Chart. The introductory page in the Math CIG’s will further describe the revision work that has taken place. Additionally, all math materials that were previously contained on the P Drive are now available in the Elementary Math Collaboration Schoology Group. As a reminder, there are no changes to the Elementary Science CIG’s for this year. These will be rewritten in their entirety for the 17-18 school year. Questions may be directed to Ed Gooch.
2016-17 Elementary Grading Guidelines Intranet Folder
The contents of the Elementary Grading Guidelines folder, found on the Intranet, has been updated for the 2016-17 school year. This folder can be accessed by navigating to Intranet/OTL/Documents/Report Card and Promotion Standards/Elementary Grading Guidelines.
