News & Information for Tiger Families

Letter from the Principal

Tiger Families,

Congratulations to our 8th graders who made their Confirmation on Sunday, April 16th. It will be a Confirmation to remember! Although, things went a little different than planned, our 8th graders did a wonderful job. Thank you to Mrs. Janes for all her hard work in preparing our students!

This weekend please pray for our 19 - 2nd Graders who will make their 1st Communion on Sunday at 11 am Mass. This is such a special time for them and their families!

Congratulations to our Track and Field athletes! Check out the link below to see how many school records have already been broken this year.

A shout out to our Kindergarteners and 7th graders for planting flowers in front of the school today in the Memorial Prayer Garden for Earth Day! The flowers look beautiful. Also, today our 3rd and 4th graders took a field trip to Carlyle Lake for a fun filled day of science activities.

Thank you to everyone who sent in envelopes for our Annual Fund - Weekend of Giving. Students did a wonderful job with their letters. We are excited that our students get to show their families the great things St. Teresa has to offer.

As always, we thank you for sharing your student with us. We appreciate your trust, support, and partnership.

Sincerely,

Nicole Green

Principal

ABSENT...FORGOT SOMETHING...

You may have noticed the black bookshelf that is now in the office.

Did your student forget to bring something to school:

Parents, do you need to drop something off for your child? Place it on the shelf of your child's grade level, and let Ms. Tewell know so she can notify your child's classroom teacher that it is here.

Have a sick student:

Look for your child's grade level and find their homework! Students who have siblings that are not at school, will need to check the bookshelf for homework at the end of the day. Remember to please email your student's teacher by 9am if you would like homework for the day. All homework can be picked up from 3pm - 4pm at the bookshelf.

For the 2022 – 2023 school year, schools are required to return to charging for school meals. The program flexibility provided by the federal government has expired; therefore, meals are no longer free. St. Teresa School is accepting payment through FACTS. Parents can deposit money for meals in their FACTS Management Account.

Lunch Costs: School lunches will cost $3.35 per lunch this year with milk costing $0.70. This year students from Kindergarten to 8th grade will have four lunch choices; two rotating choices, a salad, or a sandwich.

Snacks will be available for on the spot cash purchase for 5th - 8th grade.

PreK will have three lunch choices; two rotating choices, or a sandwich.

St. Teresa School does not permit food deliveries from vendors such as DoorDash, UberEats, restaurant delivery, etc. If a fast food item is dropped off for your student to eat at school, they will be asked to eat it in the office.

CBAY this Sunday, April 23 from 6:30-8 p.m.

We are gathering this Sunday, April 23 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Youth Room at St. Augustine. All 6th-8th graders are welcome. Join in our discussion about social media! If the weather is nice, we might also go outside for a game or maybe an Earth Day activity. As always, there will be snacks and an opportunity to pray together for any concerns and in thanksgiving for our blessings. Tell a friend ~ bring a friend!

There are two more gatherings planned this school year: Sundays, May 7 and May 21. We hope to have a guest speaker on May 7 (stay tuned for who) and will celebrate all graduates (from 8th grade and 12th grade) on May 21. One of these dates will include MUSIC by all our CBAY musicians and singers! We are also looking to set up a youth council for 2022-2023. So if you are currently a high school freshman through junior, we invite you to step into a leadership role on the youth council. We hope to get the council started at the May 21 gathering or early in the summer.

Parents and young adults (in college or older) are also more than welcome to join in the fun! If you have any questions, please contact Laurie Lindauer at 618-910-3804 or lmlindauer@gmail.com.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

Illinois State Law states that all students in Illinois must attend 176 days of school. Due to some confusion with the movement of principals, students were scheduled to attend 179 days of school for the 2022-2023 school year. That being said, we DO NOT NEED TO MAKE UP SNOW DAYS.

The official last day of St. Teresa School will be May 24th.
