Happy Spring Break Eagles! I hope this message finds you at home and healthy.
You’ve been working hard for the last several weeks and adjusting to virtual learning but we want you to put your pens and pencils down and relax just a little bit; it’s time to take a break! Go outside, do some fun activities with your family, and read a book for fun! Reading is a great way to keep your brain active and it's always good to read, even during spring break. To make reading during the break fun and enjoyable, I have issued a Spring Break Reading Challenge. Have some fun reading this next week then share your completed challenge board with your teacher. If we have 50% of our students complete the challenge, I’ll complete the egg challenge, having eggs smashed on my head!
Silk Hope will continue to be a food distribution site during the break and will be open each weekday from 9:30am - 1:30pm with the exception of Friday, April 10.
At-Home learning will resume Tuesday, April 14th. If you do not have reliable internet access, we will have paper packets available for pickup Tuesday, April 14th from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. To limit personal contact, these packets will be outside the front door of the school and can be picked up without speaking to a school employee.
To motivate our students and get them back into the virtual routine following spring break, Silk Hope School will have an at-home learning Spirit Week!
Although school is closed we will be holding Kindergarten Registration April 14-April 30. If you have a child, or know of a child, who will be 5 on or before August 31 please visit the Silk Hope School website during the registration window to enroll your child online.
Lastly, we want to wish you well. We miss our Silk Hope Eagles so much and look forward to seeing everyone as soon as possible. To show you just how much we miss you, check out the video we created just for you!
Have a great week and remember to SOAR!
Mrs. Brady-Andrew

More Free Educational Websites for Home
Here's another free resource to assist with at-home learning.
- Wide Open School: This site was built in a matter of days on a shared vision. We plan to keep building until things get back to normal. A group of more than 25 organizations came together and raised their hands to help, and many more are joining on a daily basis. Watch for new features and content partners frequently. Wide Open School is a free collection of the best online learning experiences for kids curated by the editors at Common Sense Media. There is so much good happening, and we are here to gather great stuff and organize it so teachers and families can easily find it and plan each day.
