Bilingual/ESL
1. What kind of intervention do you use for oral language development?
-gestures, visuals, verbal cues, repeating and rephrasing complex sentences, modeling language forms (pronunciation)
2. How do you get a beginner student to the next level?
-Rosetta Stone, pre-teach complex vocabulary words, visuals, peer tutoring
3. What is the ESL program model for our campus?
-Content based and Pull-out
4. What kind of monitoring system is in place to keep track of the language process of your students?
-ELL tracking system, Telpas
5. How do you know the language levels of your ELLs?
-LPAC provides this information
6. How do you get information regarding LPAC decisions for your ELLs?
-LPAC gathers information from teachers and reports back as well
Sped
1. How do you provide input for the IEP meetigs?
-Teacher input forms, conversations with Sped staff
2. What do you do when you have students that you feel are not being successful?
-speak to Sped staff, ask for an ARD if necessary
3. How are critical parts of the IEP communicated to you as a general ed teacher?
-new schedule of services, goals, accomodations, and BIP if applicable are given to teachers
4. What evidence do you have that accommodations and/or modifications are provided?
-Special Populations Notebook and working folders
5. How do you support specially designed instruction for students with an IEP?
-support and implement IEP goals in general ed, collaborate with Sped teacher
6. What support in implementing IEPS do you receive from special education?
-Inclusion support staff assisting students, weekly check-ins and conversations with Sped case managers
What kind of Bilingual program do we have in our district?
-Transitional Early Exit
How did you participate in the development of the Campus Improvement Plan?
-Campus Needs Assessment last April
What types of interventions do we use for our At- risk students?
-LLI program, HERO, Lunch Bunch, T-Time
How do we support and monitor ELL students on our campus?
-LLI program, Latino Family Literacy Project, Rosetta Stone, T-Time, tutoring, and ELL tracking system
What monitoring system is in place for students that did not pass state assessments?
-Tracking system to ensure all students that did not pass are participating in one or all of the following; LLI program, T-Time, and/ or Tutoring to close gaps
