A Note from Mrs. Hobbs

Happy March Clever families! These last few weeks have been a whirlwind. Thank you for your continued support.

Online Book Fair

The Scholastic online book fair will start April 2 and run through April 15th. Our school will earn 25% on all purchases. All orders will ship directly to the shipping address the person provides, so family members and grandparents could order books and ship them directly to the kids.

Distance Learning

We have kicked-off a new adventure in e-learning. You should have received an email link for our learning framework, the framework is also posted on Seesaw.

We wanted to share some "need to knows" as we begin this journey. Most importantly, these resources have been created as a way to help families support students in their learning and to also give students a sense of normalcy and connection to school. These resources are not mandatory, and we encourage you to use them at the pace that best meets the needs of your family. We are here to support you along the way, and WE MISS YOU!

Please reach out to your classroom teacher if you have any questions or need any guidance.

We have provided a great deal of resources, please do not feel overwhelmed and go at your own pace. Do what works best for your family and find those authentic learning experiences throughout the day. What our kids need right now is to feel comforted and loved. That might mean you take more breaks to play outside, bake cookies, and paint pictures. Our kids' mental health is what is most important.

Thank You Notes

Throughout our Leader in Me journey at Clever, this year I made it a goal to hand-write one thank you note per week to send to those in my life who I am thankful for. We call this a deposit into someone else's emotional bank account (EBA). This has been extremely beneficial.

We all know how a regular bank account works. We make deposits, save up money, and when we need that money later, we withdraw it. What happens, though, if you take more money from your account than has been deposited? An emotional bank account is built of trust instead of money. Deposits build and strengthen relationships; withdrawals break down and lessen trust.

I challenge YOU and YOUR CHILD to join me in this challenge to hand write one thank you note per week. Together let's make deposits into other's EBAs.
