PLA@George H. Fisher School 93
Greetings PLA Families,
What a beautiful week of fall weather! We have one more week until scholars will be on fall break. Our teachers have been working hard to prepare for our upcoming Parents-In-Touch conferences. This is an opportunity for you to visit our school, your child's classroom, and learn about their progress. Teachers can also share with you their plan for your child's academic success moving forward. It is a very important meeting that we hope you plan to attend. Our teachers and staff value all of our parents and families. You play a crucial role in your child's success here at school. We are looking forward to meeting with you.
Just a reminder that scholars will not attend school on Wednesday, October 12th. All scholars will receive work to do at home. All assigned work from this date will be due when scholars return from fall break on Monday, October 24th.
All parents should have received a confirmation time for Parents-In-Touch on Tuesday, October 4th along with your scholar's weekly progress report. If you did not, please reach out to your child's teacher to confirm your conference time. Our goal is to meet with 100% of our families.
In addition to our conferences, we will have a table set up at school on October 12th to recruit parents that might be interested in joining our Parent Teacher Association (PTA). We value your input and would love to have you join our mission at school to providing an outstanding education to all scholars.
I have had many parents ask about before and after school care in the past. We are considering some options at PLA93. We want to hear from you! Use the link below to complete our survey. This survey will be open for one more week. https://forms.gle/VqY532J126UwUX3j8
Please note that if you signed up for Scouts, the start date has changed. Scouts will now begin their programming on Monday, October 24th. Fran Smith, the program director, will be reaching out to families that have already enrolled.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Mr. Hendricks
Principal-PLA@93

Coats for Kids
All Coats for Kids recipients must pre-register and choose an appointment time in order to receive a coat. Registration will open on October 3, 2022, at 8:00 am. You may use the following link to register:
Coats for Kids is planned for October 15th at the Indiana State Fairgrounds from 8:00am-2:00pm in the Elements Financial Blue Ribbon Pavilion at 1202 E. 38th Street in Indianapolis.
Children from across Central Indiana can come on this very special day to pick out a warm winter coat, scarf, hat, and gloves.
Each registered family will be emailed a timed entry ticket, which means no more standing in long lines waiting to receive a coat. Instead, parents and guardians will be able to arrive at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Blue Ribbon Pavilion shortly before their appointment time. Families can wait in the comfort of their parked cars and will be able to enter the building 30 minutes prior to their appointment time. This ensures we can provide more efficient service to you and your family! We will have accommodations in place for families who do not have a vehicle.
Once inside, families can visit information tables in the front reception area and enjoy some kids activities. Shortly before their appointment time, they will be called to get in line to go out onto the shopping floor with our volunteer shopping guides. Children will be able to try on coats and find the perfect fit for the winter season.

Parent ESSER Survey
Parents, we need your help. PLA93 has received money from the federal government and we would appreciate your input as to how you would like this money spent. ESSER is a stimulus and emergency COVID relief funding stream authorized as part of the CRRSA Act enacted on December 27, 2020. This additional funding stream is intended to help states and school districts safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools and address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the nation’s students. We are working to hear the voice of our stakeholders when determining use of funds. The allocations are only designated for very specific areas. Please provide us your feedback no later than December 23, 2022 using the following link: https://www.phalenacademies.org/essersurvey
