CPA Tiger Talk

August 30 - September 3

The Importance of Relationships

The beginning of the school year is an exciting time. Old friendships are rekindled and new ones are formed. New classes challenge and engage us. All slates are clean and anything is possible.

Academic rigor is important. But at CPA, we know that relationships come first. During the first several weeks of school, developing relationships with and among our students is our primary goal. This helps us build a foundation of trust and respect that will allow us to dig deeper into our academics throughout the year.

You can see this no matter which classroom you are in. It looks like students intentionally practicing one another's names or working collaboratively on activities. It looks like teachers greeting each student when they arrive to the classroom. It looks like classes playing circle games together. It looks like CPA.

The idea of putting relationships first is simple. It's been our focus since CPA was founded in 1995, and it will always be an important part of who we are. We are excited to continue to develop relationships over the coming weeks and beyond.

Daily Health Screening

Due to the ongoing pandemic, we need to be extra careful about spreading any illnesses at school. Parents should do a health screening of their children each morning before school. • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Headache

  • New loss of taste or smell

Annual Pesticide and Asbestos Notification

Each year, schools are required to notify families about any pesticides or asbestos present on school grounds. Read this document for more information.

Tech Device Returns Needed!

Any 9th grade students who still have a CPA Chromebook should return it to their Ethics teacher as soon as possible. The Chromebooks are needed for our middle school students.

If you have a family member with a CPA device who has graduated or left CPA for other reasons, please return the device(s) to CPA as soon as possible. Thanks for helping us meet our goal of providing a device to each currently enrolled student!

Masks Required on Buses

Masks are required for all passengers on school buses. This is a federal mandate. Please make sure students have a mask before getting on the school bus, and wear them the entire ride to school and home. Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe!

Application for Free/Reduced Price Lunch

For the 2021-2022 school year, breakfast and lunch are free for all students. However, it is important that all CPA families complete the application for free and reduced price lunch so CPA receives support and resources for all students, and so that individual families have access to community resources. If you haven't submitted an application yet for 2021-2022, please do so online at https://www.schoolcafe.com/spps. Thank you!

Volunteer or Chaperone at CPA!
