OLVCS Updates
November 4th, 2022
Dear OLV Parents and Friends,
Our teachers have completed several weeks of course from Franciscan University entitled The Mission of Catholic Schools and the Role of Teachers. A summary of the vision of Catholic education presented in the course is “helping to lead students to encounter Christ and toward a deeper relationship with Him and His Church.” The discussions and reflection this course have sparked are both enlightening and valuable.
All Saints: One of the highlights of our Catholic school’s encounter with the Church is the opportunity to honor the great men and women throughout Church history who allowed the love of God to shine through their words and actions. Our students made puppets, dressed up, read about and reported on the lives of the Saints this week, but it’s the connections they can make with these “ordinary people” that will inspire and encourage them the most.
Suffice it to say, it’s been a good week. There are more great events coming, so please check out the calendar (when you hit the calendar link below, scroll down below the academic calendar).
We are still looking for a kindergarten aide, a kitchen helper, and, as always, lunchroom volunteers. If you know anyone who would be interested, please send them our way.
God bless and have a nice weekend!
In Christ,
Jim Hoy
