Do YOU got the herps?
What you need to know
Genital herpes is a sexual transmitted disease. You can get it from oral, anal, or vaginal sex. Especially when you have unprotected sex, it's very highly to catch this disease. It can cause sores in your mouth from sharing saliva. Even just by sharing a soda, you can catch it very easily if that person just put their infected mouth on it. This disease doesn't live outside of the body for very long though, so you wouldn't be able to catch it from something like a toilet seat.
Both genders can easily get this disease.
You can get the infection on your mouth as well as your privates.
This is generally what the disease looks like on skin
Genital herpes is very contagious and it can be spread even when sores aren't visible. The virus that causes cold sores is also the cause of this disease. It's actually pretty common, 1 out of 4 people have genital herpes, 45 million American adults, mostly younger adults. Even though both genders can get it, it is more common for women to have it than men.
