St Bernadette's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 5 | 3 March 2023

Good afternoon, Bernie’s families - I hope you are enjoying the day off with your kids,
A busy week here at school with our Year 3 and 5 students practicing for their NAPLAN testing in Week 7 and 8. Our staff are always talking to students about the importance of having a positive attitude, doing their best and not worrying about getting answers wrong. We would appreciate it if this could be reinforced at home and if your child is worried about the testing, please let your teacher know.
There was also lots of fun to be had this week too as our Year 1’s took the train into the city for their State Library excursion. Our Year 6’s also welcomed a local artist into Bernie’s for an incursion to create a large mural for our Bernie’s Sustainability Garden. We have already seen some great designs and ideas!
We are getting excited for our Swimming Trials and Faction Carnival that will be held on Monday 13th and Friday 17th of March. There are number of students who are yet to register for this fun and compulsory school event. Please complete your online registration on the ‘Sports Tracker’ website by clicking on the following link pickmyevents.com
Instructions have been emailed to you and log ins have been sent home with your child last week. As this is a compulsory school event, we strongly encourage all students to at least participate in the ‘Novelty’ fun events. This will involve students being supported by noodles and kickboards as well as staff and parents to participate in a fun team environment. If your child will not be participating in any swimming events, we ask you to provide a medical certificate to: admin@stbernadettes.edu.au or contact one of our AP’s.
Next Wednesday our Year 3 classes will be joining Father G and the parish for their Class Mass on Wednesday morning. If you are free and would like to attend with your students, we would love you to go down to the church at 9am. All family and friends are welcome.
