Francis Drake

B. Drake started in England and intended to pass through the Strait of Magellan, at the southern tip of South America, and then explore the waters of Panama. After claiming the California coast for the Queen, Drake sailed across the Pacific and Indian oceans. He reached the Atlantic by sailing around the tip of Africa. He began one of his many voyages and he ended up going around the world to avoid the angry Spaniards. His voyage took him 3 years , from 1577 to 1580.
