Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
Thank You Morning Tea for Volunteers
Yesterday we held a ‘Thank You Morning Tea for Volunteers’ at our school.
We are very grateful for the generous time parents and carers have given in helping to support the many P&F fund and friend raisers over the course of 2021, as well as the support they have provided classroom teachers in being helpers on excursions and running the year group Facebook pages.
Time is such a precious gift to give because you only have a set amount of it, you can’t make more time. When you give someone your time, you give a gift that can’t be returned and that lasts forever. Once time is spent on someone or on some endeavour, it is spent forever and this is the truly beautiful aspect of the time given by volunteers at our school, they have decided that our school community was worth such precious gift.
We are truly blessed to have so many people contribute their talents and precious time to building a strong and more connected school community.
Resiliency and Tiredness
As the term rapidly draws to a close and the school calendar becomes more busy, the children are getting noticeably tired. Small irritations or friendship issues can escalate as children are more sensitive and less resilient when tired. At home you can support your child by listening to them and encouraging them to talk the issue through with their friend where the friendship is based on mutual trust and respect. If this doesn’t resolve the matter they can speak with a trusted adult at school. It is also important to ensure your child is getting sufficient sleep at night. Children at primary school should be getting between 9 to 11 hours of sleep every night.
Commitment to School Events
We provide many opportunities for children to grow all aspects of themselves, including their spiritual, academic, social-emotional and physical development. It is expected that children participate in all opportunities and events that have been arranged during the school day as part of the delivery of the curriculum. It is also our expectation that parents encourage their children to attend events, such as interschool sports carnivals. A commitment to a team and to persist with activities that might challenge your child, are important life skills to develop.
AGM
Our school AGM will be held next Monday evening in the undercover area at 7pm. All parents and carers are welcome to attend. Drinks and snacks will be provided at the end of the meeting, to celebrate a successful academic year. Several booklist door prizes will be drawn for those in attendance. We look forward to seeing you there.
God bless you all.
