A Note from Mrs. Cockrell

Dear Chisholm Trail families,

Welcome back! We are thrilled to welcome your children back to campus Wednesday, January 6th! I hope that you enjoyed your break and that your children are excited to get back to school. We have missed each and every one and cannot wait to see them.

As we continue to work hard on campus to keep our children and staff safe, we are asking you to be diligent in reporting to us when your student is either having symptoms, has been exposed, or has received a positive COVID-19 test result. Should you have questions, you may contact me at or our nurse, Courtney Lynch at

Our campus vision is to empower your learner to experience excellence in all he or she does. This is includes the social and emotional well being of your child in addition to literacy and other academics. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or to me to let us know how we can serve you better. We are all on this journey together and this year's journey has provided many twists and turns for us all.

Don't forget to share a kind word or two for our teachers on the Chisholm Cheers button below. I love adding the messages to our weekly staff newsletters every week.Thank you for helping us celebrate them well!

Thank you for sharing your children with us!

Cari Cockrell

Big picture

All students will return to campus JANUARY 6th, unless a student meets one of three exceptions:

  • A positive Covid case causes the student to be quarantined
  • A student has had close contact with a positive Covid case
  • A student is medically fragile or lives with someone who is and can supply a doctor's noe by JANUARY 8th, requesting the student remain on remote learning

If you have medical documentation that addresses a medically fragile situation of the student or someone living in the home, you may email it to
Chisholm Cheers

Good things are happening at Chisholm Trail and we would love to hear about them. Your words of encouragement are invaluable to our teachers!

Thank you for your continued support for our procedures this year. Children are arriving no earlier than 7:35 and entering the building safely, wearing masks.

We appreciate that you have your car tags hanging on your mirror at dismissal. In the case of a forgotten tag, we will do an ID check as efficiently as possible, but we may ask you to pull up ahead of the line and wait for a moment.

Helpful Reminders

Parents, please remember to LABEL your children's belongings. (Water bottles, jackets, masks, lunch boxes, back packs, etc.) We want all items to stay with their rightful owners. When things are left behind, it is very tricky to return them if they are not labeled. Thank you for your help with this.
