Aloha from Dr. Rose
We've had an interesting (and rainy) February and we are all ready for the sunshine of spring that is hinting of being near. March is a short month, but a crazy busy one. This is a part of being an International Baccalaureate World School. In addition to our academic rigor, the IB PYP aims to nurture students to develop skills beyond their academic content. We aim to develop learners who are: Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-minded, Caring, Risk-takers, Balanced and Reflective, which are among the crucial skills of the 21st century. This means we focus on awareness of things outside of academic content such as the work of March of Dimes and World Down Syndrome Day. We just finished our learning of Black History Month and in March our students will learn about National Women's Month and many historical figures in American history.
We are so proud of our students. Not only do they achieve academically, but they are gaining great "soft" skills that, when combined, will make them wildly successful in the future.

4th grade parents
Dear Fourth Grade Parents,
What a great time it is to be a fourth grader! Your child watched a demonstration of instruments by some current fifth grade students and we sent home a yellow packet of information. We would like you to have a look over the documents and talk this decision over with your child. We are happy to take a paper registration, but in our digital age it may be easier for all of us to sign up electronically.
Here are the sign-up links for BAND and STRINGS
If your child wishes to join, please sign up before spring break. Remember that students can REMAIN in chorus while taking band and strings, so we encourage them to give this a try!
Thanks!

Tornado Drill
We fully understand that our some of our students may still have fears due to our most recent tornado and the events of being in our tornado emergency positions. We will proceed with this mandatory drill; however, we plan on doing this in a manner that will help our students understand that it is, in fact, just a drill.
