Community Resources
We are all going through a new experience together as a community, even though we have social distance between us. I know this has been tough for many of us and finding our new normal might take some time. One concern I wanted to assist with is helping families with resources. During this difficult time, finding resources and navigating them can be difficult, especially if you are in crisis or in immediate need. I have collected resources in and around Marion County, to assist families in need. Some of the resources are specific to Covid-19 in regards to availability, times, and changes to expectations in getting the resource. Those specifications have been listed on the resource sheet, and could be time sensitive.
Here is a list of the resources that you will find in Resources for Families:
- Resource assistance - sites with a variety of resources or community connections
- Food assistance
- Utilities/Housing assistance
- Internet assistance
- Legal assistance
- Self help assistance - counseling and crisis
- Family and children assistance
- Covid-19 Health
- Parenting and Child activities/resources -
I am sure that there are other resources available that I have not come across or am unaware of at this time. If you have a resource that is not listed, please email me and I will add it and provide updated versions as needed (jking@decaturproud.org). If you are having difficulty using one of these resources or cannot find a resource, again please email me and I will try my best to assist you. I will be available through email on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during our regular school hours of eLearning .
I look forward to the day we get to see all of our student's smiling faces!
Stay safe and healthy Blue Academy, Together we are Decatur Proud!

DCHS Baseball Camp!
This summer DCHS is excited to host a Cincinnati Reds youth camp! The camp will include a visit from a current Reds player, instruction from Reds coaches, Reds game tickets, and a Reds camp uniform. This is a great opportunity for the baseball community of Decatur Township and we want as many kids as possible to enjoy the experience.
