Dear Worthington Park Families,

Happy Friday from the staff here at Worthington Park. We had an amazing week here at school, filled with fun activities, field trips, and lots of hard work from our students. We are excited to celebrate our wonderful school year over the course of our last eight days together.

Please take a minute to review the information below including an update on Field Day, information from our PTA, and other fun events around the building. Have an amazing week and Go Sharks!

Last Day of School

Just a reminder for all families that the last day of school this year is Wednesday, May 25th. We will be ending the school day with our annual "Clap Out" celebration for our 5th grade Park Sharks who are heading off to the middle schools next school year. More information will be coming to fifth grade soon!

Field Day is Next Friday

Just a reminder that next week on Friday, May 20th our students will be participating in different stations involving games and inflatable!

A couple of things to remind your students to ensure this is a fun & successful day:

  • Please send your child in comfortable laced shoes and socks (Socks are required for inflatables)
  • Make sure to have a good breakfast so you have lots of energy
  • Wear comfy clothes as we will be outside!
  • BRING A WATER BOTTLE with your name on it!

Mr. Cox and Worthington Park is still seeking parent volunteers to help classroom teachers run different games, provide water and support to our students, and help end the year with a blast. We need volunteers for both the morning and afternoon sessions:

8:15 – 10:45 am Grades: K(am), 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade

11:30 – 2:00 pm Grades: K (all day and pm, 1st, and 4th grade

Worthington Park Grill Out Lunch this Wednesday

This coming Wednesday, we will be making a change to our lunch menu. In place of pancakes, Principal Garrity and our District Food Service team, led by Chef Sam will be doing a cookout for all of our Park Shark students. They will be serving grilled cheeseburgers, carrots, chips, and slushy cups,

We will continue to offer both white and chocolate milk as well as our sunbutter & jelly sandwich should students prefer that option!

Moving this Summer?

Are you planning on moving over the summer or have you moved recently? Please contact the Renee (rfisher@wscloud.org) so we may update our records! Thanks!

Senior Send Off Celebration

Do you have a graduating senior this school year who attended Worthington Park? On Monday, May 16th, we will be celebrating those students here at Park with our annual Senior Send-Off! This is a great chance to welcome back our former students and recognize all of their accomplishments before they head out into the world. Our celebration will be at 2:45 in the Library! Check Out our flyer here for more information

Update from our School Counselor

Hello, Park families and students! I am moving out of Ohio this summer and will unfortunately not be returning as your school counselor next year. I feel sincerely grateful for the time I've spent with every student at Park and I am full of hope and excitement for their future successes.

We are lucky to have Ms. Courtney Saba starting as our new school counselor in August. She has been a school counselor in Toledo for the past three years and has a lot to share with our community. Please email me at ecarberry@wscloud.org or call 614-450-5520 if you or your students have any questions.
