Truitt Middle School
July/August 2021
A NOTE FROM MS. GARCIA
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am so excited to welcome our students back to campus on August 23rd. The past two years have been a challenge as we navigate this pandemic, but I want you to know that I pledge to make the 2021-2022 school year a wonderful return to learning at Truitt Middle School. Our creed at Truitt says, “I am a Truitt Timberwolf. I can achieve success because it’s in my DNA. I must strive to exhibit pride, accountability, cooperation, and kindness. I will attain my goals… because I said I would.” This creed isn’t just for students, it’s for the adults on campus as well. Education is a mutual endeavor between home and school. For this to be a successful partnership, I am requesting your support in the following areas, because these are some of the things that can greatly impact student success:
- Getting your child to school on time daily. Our school day begins at 7:20 am.
- Having high expectations for academic and behavioral success at school.
- Ensuring your child is in bed at a good hour so that they can be productive the next day.
- Monitoring your child's social media usage.
- Having discussions with your child about their day at school and monitoring their social-emotional needs.
- Communicating with the Truitt staff as soon as a concern arises with your child and their school experience at Truitt.
I believe that when educators and parents join forces and work as a team, we usher our Truitt Timberwolves into academic, behavioral, and emotional success.
SIncerely,
Yvette Garcia
