"Love First, Last, & Always"

Lately I’ve spent some time doing a little spring cleaning; donating clothes, gathering puzzles and toys we don’t use, and boxing up books we no longer read. The garage is next on our to do list! We have a few bikes and scooters that the kids have outgrown and about a million flower pots that are piling up. Can anyone relate? Time to clear out the old to make room for the new!


Right now, we find ourselves in a very unique season, too. The daily schedules we are accustomed to and the comforts we have enjoyed have been stripped away. The pace has changed and the to-do lists look different. It feels a bit like we are in a spring cleaning season for our hearts and lives.


I am trying to look at this season as one where God is making room in my life for something better. God is present. He is here. He has a plan and we can trust that He is at work in our lives, even though we may be mourning what was. Bob Goff says it beautifully, “God can’t add beautiful things to our hearts if there’s no room in our lives”. Perhaps during this time when we feel our lives have been stripped bare, consider what can be let go of that might make room for God’s beauty and love.

Parent-Teacher Interviews

As you know, report cards went out in January, however we missed the Parent Teacher Interviews that were scheduled to happen in March. Therefore we are setting aside next week (April 27 - May 1) for you to connect with your child's teacher with regards to your child's progress. Teacher will be contacting you with details of how you can connect with them.

Hats On For Mental Health! - Friday May 1st

May 1st has typically been a day to wear a hat in support of mental health. We feel it is important, especially during the pandemic, to have continued awareness of and conversations related to mental health. As such we are encouraging you all to wear a hat next Friday! Students are encouraged to wear hats during any google meets that they are involved in! Send a picture to your teacher of you wearing a hat on Friday!!

Registrations for next year!

Although we currently are not in school at this time, we are still moving forward and planning for the 2020-2021 school year. We are taking new registrations at this time so please encourage your friends, family and neighbours to register through our division website


If you know that your child will not be attending Jean Vanier next year, we would ask that you call the school office (780-467-3633) and leave a message informing of your intentions.

LITTLE ORCHARD SADOCHOK PRESCHOOL - REGISTER NOW!

We are now accepting registrations for the 2020/2021 school year! We are an English based preschool program with some Ukrainian fun! Program is for 4 year old's and will be based out Jean Vanier Catholic School in Sherwood Park. To obtain registration forms or if you have any questions, please email either bucpssecretary@gmail.com or little.orchard.sadochok@gmail.com.

*** PLEASE NOTE: The Little Orchard Sadochok Preschool has always ran with a volunteer board, typically comprised of a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. At a minimum, we require individuals to step up into the President and Treasurer roles - without these integral positions filled, we will be unable to move forward and run the program for the 2020/2021 school year. Fortunately we have had someone come forward to take on the Treasurer role (thank you!), but we are still actively seeking a President for the preschool. Please reach out to your Executive if you have any questions or wish to help. ***

UKRAINIAN BILINGUAL PROGRAM: KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

Online registration opens on February 1st!

To register for the Ukrainian Bilingual Kindergarten program for the 2020/2021 school year, your child must be 5 years old on or before December 31, 2020.

Although masses are cancelled until further notice, the church is still open for personal prayer. Archbishop Smith has granted all the Catholic faithful dispensation from our Sunday obligation. All parish penitential services and sacramental preparation classes are also cancelled at this time.

The church remains open for private prayer daily 7:30am-6:00pm, with Adoration at the times listed below. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available at the times listed below. The parish office is open 7:30am-6:00pm daily.

No more than 15 people are permitted in the church at any time. Please follow instructions for physical distancing as posted.
In accordance with the requirements set out by Alberta's Chief Medical Officer and the directives of Archbishop Smith, priests will celebrate all Masses PRIVATELY when the church is empty. We are very sorry. Please celebrate mass with us from home via the live stream on your computer.

• Monday to Saturday 8:30 am to 9:30 am
• Tuesday and Thursday, 5:15 pm to 6:15 pm
• Sundays 10:30-11:30, 12:30-1:30, 6:00-7:00 pm
