Why World War I Began...
There were many problems over land between the European countries. The countries had great pride and they competed with each other with their militaries and weapons. Many countries made alliance with each other. The actual event that started World War I was the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of the Austria-Hungary Empire. He was killed by a man from Serbia.France joined Russia and Serbia, which are later called the Allies. Germany invaded Belgium so Great Britten then joined the Allies. The two groups, the Central Powers and the Allies were now at war.

Why did the U.S enter the War...
There are many reasons why the U.S entered the World War I. In 1915, the passenger ship, the Lusitania was torpedoed on the coast of England by the Germans without warning the ship. The Germans promised to warn ships rom then on to keep the U.S out of the war. In 1917 the Zimmermann Telegram was found. It was a note from Germany that was written to Mexico. The letter wanted Mexico to attack the U.S to get their land back from the U.S. Germany also started sinking U.S ships agin.
Techonlogies and Weapons used Durinng World War I...
There were many new technologies used during World Word War I. It was the first war that airplanes were used. Tanks were built during the war by Great Britten, but they were slow, they broke down, and were dangerous. Machine guns were the soldiers weapon that they carried around. Trench Warfare was what the soldiers used as a hiding place. It was underground and caused many people to get sick or die from rats and mud. Poison gases were used to kill enemy. The soldiers had suits that protected them from getting poisoned. Submarines were used to sneak up on enemy ships underwater and bomb or torpedo them.
How World War I ended...
World War I ended because of several reasons. Great Britain's navy stopped the Germans from getting food and supplies to Germany. The US sent in many troops that helped the Allies win many battles and the end of WWI. The Ottoman Empire and Bulgarians dropped out of the Central Powers and the war. Germany had many problems in their own country and decided to surrender. On November 11, 1918, at 11:00AM, Germany and the Central Powers surrendered to the Allies. The day was named Armistice Day was later called Veteran's Day.
